Quick-Fix suggestions for IIT aspirants

The mention of IIT-JEE triggers a volley of preparation tips and suggestions from experts and one tends to get confused and nervous. Reason: they are so many in number that one cannot follow all of them properly. Here, we provide you with some easy and simple tips that will make your ride easy.

 1. Rather than solving a large number of substandard problems, solve lesser no. of standard problems. Avoid books like R. D. Sharma, M.L. Agarwal (in these books, whole exercises are composed of questions of one type).

2. Rather than focusing on answer, focus on solution.

 3. Solve puzzles. It helps a lot. Visit: http://www.puzzle.dse.nl/index_us.html and solve some simple puzzles.

4. At least solve these books: NCERT 11th and 12th, Trigonometry by SL Loney(only syllabus part), Co-ordinate Geometry by SL Loney(only syllabus part)

 5. Most important: Don’t follow stereotypes. The common tendency is to solve the questions/problems in the same format as shown by book/teacher/tutor. Struggle with every question/problem before asking for assistance. It’s tough to do so. After all, obstacles are there for a reason.

“Brick walls are there for a reason. The brick walls are not there to keep us out. The brick walls are there to show how badly we want something because the brick walls are there to stop the people who don’t want something badly enough. They are there to keep out the other people.” – Randy Pausch
