Online registration starts for IIT- JEE 2012

October 31’ The whiff of nervous excitement is in the air as registration for the toughest engineering entrance exam has started. The last day of October will end with the start of online application procedure for IIT-JEE 2012.

The last day for online registration is December 10 if you are applying online whereas for the offline applicants it is 15 December. Those who want to fill the form offline will have to wait till November 11 as that is the date from which forms will be available over the counters of authorized banks. The registration fees along with the form has been decided at Rs.1800 for male General candidates Rs.1000 for the SC/ST male candidates and as Rs.200 for female candidates.

WHAT IS NEW?

IIT-JEE 2012 will not see any changes in terms of the pattern of the exam. However, the candidates will have to answer the questions i.e. the OMR sheet with a black ball point pen instead of pencil. Moreover, they will have to qualify in each section to it make to the common rank list (Also read: Sectional cut-off makes its mark at IIT-JEE). This time the cut off has been predefined.

It has been fixed at 10% per subject and 35% in aggregate for the General category candidates. For the OBC candidates it is 9% per subject and 31.5% in aggregate, while those in SC and ST categories must score at least 5% in each subject and 17.5% in aggregate. For the physically disabled, the cut-off subject wise is 5% and 17.5% aggregate.
