PROS: NCERT is the best book for all JEE aspirants especially for those who find chemistry to be a difficult subject. The simple language and elegant style of the book proves to be helpful to an average student. The facts of organic and inorganic chemistry given in this book are through deep research and are considered correct by those who conduct the competitive examinations.
CONS: The book gives almost no importance to the mechanism of the reaction in organic chemistry. As far as physical chemistry is concerned, the book lacks in numerical problem.
The NCERT book is the best book for the beginners especially in the case of inorganic chemistry. The book provides you with the basic knowledge of almost all the important concepts. In all, this book is essential for the preparation of JEE (especially for inorganic).It is recommended that every jee aspirant goes throughly through the NCERT books in first four months itself.
