About IIT Guwahati
1. Situated at Guwahati, Assam.
2. The campus is on a 700 acres plot of land located on the north bank of the river Brahmaputra, it has the majestic Brahmaputra on one side, and hills and vast open spaces on others.
3. IITG was established in 1994 by an act of parliament and its academic programme commenced in 1995.
4. Admission through the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE of the IITs) for undergraduate courses and Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) for the post graduate courses.
