The Felix scholarship is meant for students from developing countries including India. Under the programme students get a chance to pursue their post graduation in a university in the UK.
About the Programme
The scholarship is offered at three universities – the University of Oxford, the University of Reading and the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), part of the University of London. The principal aim of the scholarship is to give exposure to students from these countries, which, they cannot avail in their home country.
Basis of Selection
The students are selected on the basis of outstanding academic merit and economic condition. The applications are shortlisted by the university which the candidate has applied for. After that the selected candidates are notified by the university regarding the date and venue of the interview.
The candidate must have good command over English to qualify the interview. It lasts for around thirty minutes and tests the candidate on his/her academic ability, personality, financial need and suitability for the scholarship.
• The applicants should be under the age of 30 years.
• She/he must have a first class bachelor’s degree from a recognised Indian university or a comparable institution.

The closing dates for the receipt of Felix Scholarship application forms are as follows:-
Oxford: 06 January 2012 for Medical Sciences and Philosophy
20th January 2012 for all other subjects
Only those candidates who have been accepted for admission will be considered for short listing. Short listing by all three universities will take place in March 2012 with the short lists available April 2012.
